- 2026 ASARA State SAR Conference
The Arkansas Search and Rescue Association Board is excited to announce that we will be hosting the 2026 ASARA State Conference June 6-7, 2026 with pre-conference training on Thursday, June 4 and Friday, June 5. The conference will be hosted at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR. More information will be released soon.

Planned activities are:
– Route Search Missions
– Area Search Missions
– Canine Flanker Training*
– Search Mission Planning
– SARTECH Skills Evaluation
– SARTECH Skills Practice
– SARTECH Evaluator Development
– SAR gear/equipment Swap Meet
The search missions will be Land Search related only and any rescue operations will be non-technical.
Search missions will be assigned so the search teams can develop their team’s skills. The missions will allow team members to assume roles they may not fill during an actual call-out mission. Assignments will be designed for a 2-to-5-person team. Some assignments may use multiple teams. Each team will be allowed to complete their mission assignment using tactics the Field Team Leader deems appropriate for the assigned mission. Segment/Group Supervisors/Facilitators will be available to answer questions and provide assistance if needed, they will also lead an after-action review of the assignment.
* There will not be any missions that require the use of Equestrians or ATVs/UTVs.
* Canine Handlers Do NOT bring your canines this will be Flanker Training
For the SARTECH III, SARTECH II & SARTECH I station evaluations, candidates may register for these Position Task Book skills.
In conjunction with SARTECH skills evaluations there will be Evaluator/Lead Evaluator development opportunities please contact James Mason at jamesisretired@gmail.com for more details if you want to be an Evaluator/Lead Evaluator trainee.
There will be opportunities to participate in Search Mission Planning before the event using SARTopo to identify search segments and working with Operations personnel to produce mission assignments for the Saturday activities.
There will also be opportunities for experienced SAR personnel to fill Safety Officer Positions, Segment/Group Supervisors/Facilitators, Clue/Target Team Leaders, and Clue/Target Team Members.
There will be opportunities for non-field personnel to participate in Overhead and Support roles for Saturday’s activities.

This is a great opportunity for your team to work together with other teams and gain valuable training experience; however, individuals may attend, and they will be formed into ad hoc teams or integrated into other teams.
Participants will be able to network with personnel from other SAR teams and agencies involved with SAR.
There will be a limited number of primitive campsites for participants who want to arrive Friday evening or want to stay Saturday night.
Saturday lunch will be provided with registration.
Registration fees:
ASARA Rostered Team Members $10.00
Arkansas SAR & First Responder personnel $20.00
Out of State Personnel $30.00
Event Staff (listed on the EAP ICS 203) complementary registration
Late Registration Listed Fee plus $10.00 (no refunds)
Registration fees are to cover expenses.

If weather prevents safe road travel, the event will be canceled and registrations will be refunded or credited.
**We will be having a consignment-style yard sale. Items must be related to search and rescue. All items will need to be priced in advance. Once you are registered you will be given a number to put on your price tag. Someone will be running this while you are participating in SAR Saturday. All monies will be paid out at the end of the day. Limited tables will be available so plan on bringing your own. Cash is required. No other forms of payment will be accepted for the Yard Sale items.Registration Form
